About Us

The medical otolaryngology practice of Maryland ENT Associates was founded in 1988. Dr. David Bianchi then joined the practice in 1992, Dr. Valerie Asher in 1999, Dr. Brian Driscoll in 2003 and Dr. Liesl Nottingham in 2008. The practice is committed to providing exceptional health care to our patients with emphasis on accessibility and resolving medical problems expeditiously. In addition to our staff of five specialty surgeons, we employ three full-time audiologists, a sleep specialist, dedicated, full-time surgical and sleep coordinators and more than one dozen support personnel.

We use a secure patient portal to enhance our ability to communicate effectively and expeditiously with our patients. The portal allows patients to ask questions, make an appointment, request prescription refills and pay bills online from any location. Our practice goal is to provide the finest otolaryngologic care to our patients in a convenient, friendly and professional setting. We make every attempt to schedule anticipated diagnostic testing along with the patient’s evaluation in order to avoid repeated trips to the office and additional time off of work. Our doctors have been repeatedly listed in the Washingtonian Magazine’s Top Doctors ratings and strive to continue to assure quality care for our patients.

Appointments

All visits to our office are by appointment only, and can be scheduled by calling (301) 989-2300 or by logging into our patient portal to schedule electronically.

We realize that your time is valuable and try our very best to stay on schedule. We ask you to assist us by being on time for your appointment, bringing your referral if required by your insurance company, and by completing your registration and history forms prior to your appointment. You can complete these forms in advance by completing these forms on this website. If you are not able to complete these forms before your visit, PLEASE ARRIVE 30 MINUTES EARLY TO ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR PAPERWORK. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If accompanied by another adult, they should bring written permission giving authorization to treat in the presence of the responsible individual. Please cancel 24 hours in advance if you cannot keep your scheduled appointment so that your appointment time will be available for other patients. Occasionally emergencies may require our office to reschedule your appointment. We will contact you as soon as possible when this occurs. Please make sure we have up-to-date contact information for you, including home, cell and work telephone numbers.

Making the Most of Your Visit

Before seeing one of our specialists, many of our patients have undergone studies and/or treatments related to their current problem. To allow us to make the best use of your visit, please bring with you the following:

  • A list of your current medications with dosages
  • A list of any medications that have been used to treat your current problem in the past, even if you are no longer taking them or if they were ineffective.
  • Radiology reports, pathology reports, and blood test results related to your current problem.
  • Film or CD with any CT or MRI that was done to evaluate your current problem.

Films can be obtained from the radiology facility where the study was performed. If you have arranged to have records sent to our office by another physician, please call before your visit to verify that we have received these.
